Dear Practitioner,
Please be aware that removal of cysts for cosmetic reasons is no longer supported by the NHS.
As such, benign cysts etc should not be referred to secondary care, as they will not be treated and they may take up an appointment slot better used by someone else.
If you are genuinely unsure whether a cyst is malignant, clearly this should still be referred urgently for assessment.
The only exception to the above is when the cyst is interfering with field of vision, in which case an accompanying field plot would be helpful.
